Gain Muscle, Lose Fat - Concentrate On One Objective At A Time For The Best Results

By Trent Johnson

In today's society it is a common trend to for people to not only start trimming up their bodies, but also gain muscle. The problems people run into doing this is when they try to lose too much fat and gain muscle at the same time. In order to gain muscle and lose fat, only one objective must be concentrated on at a time. However, a person who is focused can obtain both goals easily.

An excellent place to begin is with the losing of fat. Building muscle can also make you lose fat, but in return, when you step on the scales your weight may increase. Eating the proper foods will help in losing fat while maintaining the muscle that you have built. Fruits and vegetables need to be consumed four to five times a day, as well as taking in vitamins. Lean meats are also essential in maintaining the goal that you are trying to achieve. During this time, you need to try to avoid all dairy and grain products.

Exercise is the key to burning fat, but not just any type of exercise. Aerobic exercise will help you burn calories and fat as it helps to keep your heart rate elevated. Aerobic activity must be performed at least three to four days per week.

Doing too much training in one sitting can cause injury to your body. In the beginning, you will want to start out slow to find out how much your body can endure in one sitting.

If you will stick to an uncomplicated workout, you will begin to notice the loss of body fat in just a few weeks of exercising. The scales may not show too much progress at first, but keep training because the fat that you are losing will most likely be turning into muscle. Building muscle helps the body burn fat, and will increase the effectiveness and durability while in or out of the gym.

In order to gain muscle, a proper diet must also be followed, more protein must be added, as protein is needed in order to promote muscle gain. Carbohydrates should also be added to ones diet during this time as they can also help with the muscle building process.

However, a diet alone will not cause one to gain muscle mass. You must follow a lifting routine that stresses the muscles in order to make them grow. If exercise is neglected during this time, then any weight gain will more than likely be body fat.

Just as aerobic exercise is important to lose bodyfat, strength or resistance training is important to build muscle tissue. In order to keep your body symmetrical it is important to focus on exercises that train major muscle groups as to not grow out of proportion. These are just a few tips on how to gain muscle and lose fat.
